Box Hill North Kindergarten is located on lush and leafy grounds of Box Hill North Primary School. Renovations in 2013 saw the expansion of the kindergarten to provide the community with 2 large bright rooms for our 3 and 4 year old programs.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Investigating Inside….<\/h2>\n

Box Hill North\u2019s indoor spaces provide children and families with two fully equipped, spacious rooms to meet the needs of our 3 and 4 year old kindergarten programs.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Both rooms have flexible learning spaces to allow for a great range of learning environments. You will find a range of passive and active spaces within the rooms. Areas for children to engage in dramatic play, literacy and numeracy play, art areas\u00a0 and lots of opportunities for social interaction and negotiation.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Each room also has allocated space for the group to gather to share stories, play games and interact as a whole group.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As staff are inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, rooms are carefully set up to encourage deep exploration of ideas, with a high value placed on the environment being an important part of children\u2019s learning.<\/span><\/p>\n

Exploring Outside…<\/h2>\n

Our ever evolving outdoor space provides a range of experiences for enquiring minds to explore. Whether it is riding on bikes and adhering to the working traffic light in our yard or making cakes in the sandpit, the environment outside has something for everyone.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We know that learning doesn\u2019t just happen indoors, the outdoor environment is just as vital. We aim to provide experiences outside that in can be done inside outside as well. Some children gravitate to the outdoor space, so we know that it is important for scaffolding, challenging and engaging experiences to happen outdoors as well.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Our outdoor space provides experiences for every child, with lots of space to run, jump and hide as well as places to sit and share a quiet chat or story.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
